1. Discussion Topic: Should teenage single mothers be banned from attending public school (or private schools otherwise alternative schools)?
…and we must keep in mind that we are debating for an issue in SOUTH KOREA
Pros: Teenage single mothers should be expelled, banned from public education, thus should attend alternative schools or be homeschooled apart from average (not pregnant) students.
Cons: Teenage single mothers should also be able to attend ordinary schools in the same environment with other(not pregnant) students.
 
2. Expected argument points from each side
 
Pros;
-May disturb the atmosphere conductive to academic pursuit needed in an ordinary school
-As special as the situation of a single mother is(pregnancy) education should also be specialized
-Public school may be inconvenient for pregnant student both regarding the facility and the social environment surrounding her
-Policies regarding single mothers(pregnancy leave of absence system etc) is yet inadequate
-Thus, it is highly possible that the mother herself will not pursue the education
-For the school’s stance, accepting a pregnant student may seemingly give circumstantial evidence to the conservative citizens of Korea that the school approves and more over, defends teenage sex
 
Cons;
-According to the fifth article of Student Human Rights Ordinance, all students have the right to not be discriminated by their pregnancy, delivery, sexual orientation etc
-Practically, it is difficult to enroll an alternative school (there exist only 3 teenage single mother’s school founded by the Holt Children’s Services Inc.)
-Therefore, if a very lucky single mother had a chance to enroll, she would be living apart from her home.
-Even if the mother did get a chance to enroll in such school, she still needs to take a qualification exam, which she is highly likely to fail due to having less time for preparation
-Statistically, many single mothers were raised in an economically vulnerable family. So if she cannot continue her studies, it is predictable that the poverty, moreover the teenage pregnancy may be hand down
